What is SigChain?
SigChain is a design and analysis tool for RF engineers building transmit and receive chains.
What it does
You construct a signal chain as a directed graph of RF blocks — LNAs, mixers, filters, PAs, and more. The tool runs cascade analysis on the chain, computing system-level metrics (cascaded noise figure, gain, OIP3, OP1dB from individual component specifications.
The built-in AI assistant understands chain structure and can add blocks, set parameters, and answer questions about your design in natural language.
What it is NOT
- Not an EM simulator or layout tool
- Not a schematic capture or PCB tool
- Not a scheduling or project management tool
See Limitations for a full list of assumptions and constraints.
Core concept
A signal chain is a directed graph where every block is an RF block and every edge carries a signal. Each block transforms the signal according to its role and parameters. The analysis engine traverses this graph to compute cascade metrics at every stage.
