Chain Comparison
The comparison view shows a side-by-side analysis of two chains — the current chain or any saved snapshot.
Opening a comparison
There are two ways to open the comparison view:
From the header toolbar: Click the Compare toggle button in the header (alongside Diagram, Chat, Params, etc.). The comparison view opens with the current chain pre-selected as Chain A. Select a Chain B to load results.
From the Snapshots panel:
- Click the Snapshots button in the header
- Select the Compare tab
- Choose a Base chain (A) and a Compare chain (B) from the dropdowns
- Click Show Comparison
The comparison view is full-screen. Press Esc or click Exit to return to the canvas, or click the Diagram button in the header toolbar.
Changing selections inside the comparison view
Once the comparison view is open, you can change either chain using the A and B dropdowns at the top. The results update immediately.
Available options are:
- Current Chain — the live chain as it exists now
- Any saved Snapshot by name
What the comparison shows
Chain topology strips
Both chains are shown as side-by-side topology strips (stacked vertically if either chain is too wide to fit). Each block shows:
- Its role symbol
- Its label
- Its stage gain (color-coded: green for positive gain, red for loss, grey if unknown)
- Its linked component MPN (if set)
System Metrics table
Below the topology strips, a System Metrics table compares cascaded analysis results for both chains:
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Gain | Total cascaded gain |
| NF | Cascaded noise figure |
| IIP3 | Cascaded input IP3 |
| OIP3 | Cascaded output IP3 |
| Output Power | Estimated output power |
| OP1dB | Cascaded output 1 dB compression |
| IP1dB | Cascaded input 1 dB compression |
The Delta column shows Chain B minus Chain A. Deltas are color-coded: green if the change is an improvement, red if it is a degradation.
