Signal Chain Canvas
The canvas is the visual representation of your signal chain. Blocks are rendered as RF symbols connected by directed edges.
Editing blocks
- Click a block to select it and open a floating parameter editor popup. The popup allows you to:
- Rename the block label — click the label text directly to enter rename mode
- Toggle label visibility on the canvas using the Display label? checkbox
- Add or remove tags
- Toggle parameter visibility for that block
- Link to a part
- Click empty space to deselect.
- Hover over a block port to reveal a "+" button; click it to insert a new block adjacent to that port.
- Hover over a block and click the delete button (✕) in the top-right to remove it.
Block appearance
Each block displays:
- Gain badge — color-coded gain value: green for gain, red for loss/attenuation, gray when unknown
- Part badge — blue badge showing the MPN (part number) if linked, otherwise shows up to 2 tags
Edge routing
Edges are drawn automatically between connected ports. The routing is determined by the tool — you cannot manually route individual edges. Edges always flow left-to-right for the main signal path.
Export
Use the Export button in the header to export the current canvas view:
| Format | Use case |
|---|---|
| PNG | Screenshots, presentations |
| Print-ready chain diagram |
Exported images include only the chain — control UI elements (buttons, handles) are hidden automatically.
