Parameters Workbench
The parameters workbench is a table showing all block parameters for the current chain. One column per block, in chain order.
Parameters that don't apply to a role show —. A colored dot (●) next to a value shows its provenance source.
Editing a value
- Click the field you want to edit
- Type the new value (use negative numbers for losses, e.g., −1.5 for 1.5 dB insertion loss)
- Press Tab or Enter to confirm, or Esc to cancel
On confirm, the value is saved with User source and High confidence, and the analysis re-runs immediately.
Frequency unit selector
For frequency parameters, a dropdown unit selector (kHz / MHz / GHz) appears next to the input. The displayed value automatically converts when you change the unit.
Clearing vs. zero
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Enter 0 | Sets the parameter to 0 (valid value) |
| Clear the field (delete all text, confirm) | Removes the value; downstream metrics become UNKNOWN |
A zero gain and a missing gain are treated differently by the analysis engine.
Provenance badges
Each value displays a colored badge indicating where the value came from:
| Color | Source | Label | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Green | User | U | You entered it manually |
| Blue | Datasheet | DS | Extracted from a linked datasheet |
| Orange | AI | AI | Entered by AI assistant (LLM source) |
| Purple | Derived | +/- | Computed from other parameters |
| Cyan | Spec | S | Propagated from the System Spec |
| Gray | Default | (empty) | System default; not verified |
